Back in September, dating rumors broke out that Infinite’s L was dating Kim Do Yeon, an online shop owner and aspiring actress. Woollim Entertainment denied the rumors, saying they were just friends, but now Kim Do Yeon has stepped forward to say otherwise.
On November 26, Kim Do Yeon posted on her twitter a long explanation about what has happened after the dating rumors.
“I can’t just sit still receiving all the harm, so I’m writing this now after holding it in. When the dating rumors came out, that agency asked me to stay be quiet for Myung Soo’s sake, so I did. I thought for him, I could withstand it,” said Kim Do Yeon.
On November 26, Kim Do Yeon posted on her twitter a long explanation about what has happened after the dating rumors.
“I can’t just sit still receiving all the harm, so I’m writing this now after holding it in. When the dating rumors came out, that agency asked me to stay be quiet for Myung Soo’s sake, so I did. I thought for him, I could withstand it,” said Kim Do Yeon.
But the post continued that despite staying silent on the matter, fans still bothered her, throwing rocks at her on the way home and scratching up her car. She lied to her parents to reassure them that nothing bad is happening to her.
She shared that her parents recently fell ill and was hospitalized.
“My mom started to cry, saying that it was so sad to see her daughter, who they sent to study abroad and worked hard to raise, in such pain. After seeing my mom, I realized, although late, that I wasn’t able to protect the special people around me because of one person, so I’m revealing everything.”
She said although they may have been asking for criticism based on the fact that they didn’t officially admit to the relationship but still dated openly, but for her personal life to be exposed to the internet, as well as a random stranger with the same name facing torment, she believed that they didn’t do anything to be tortured the way they were.
“And everyone’s saying this all exploded because of my tweets. Yes, perhaps that gave some evidence to the dating rumors, but who was the ones spreading it around? One sasaeng organized everything and posted it on one site, so I think that sasaeng will know.”
Kim Do Yeon stated, “Either way, after that, we didn’t meet each other again. As they are idols, this could not be a personal matter but a group issue, so I decided to respect their decisions.”
She explained that she won’t be taking the emotional and physical abuse anymore, especially now that her parents are being harmed by it. She will be taking legal action against netizens who left malicious comments.

The statement reads, “When the dating rumors of L were revealed in September, we found out that they’d been dating for about four months. At the time, L wanted to publicly announce his relationship with Miss Kim. But the agency didn’t truthfully acknowledge the news in an attempt to protect our artists. About this, we want to send our sincere apologies.”
“After the reports in August, due to all the attention from the public as well as the world tour schedules, we’ve heard that they haven’t met once and have become estranged.”
“We hope that through this issue, L, Miss Kim, as well as the fans stop receiving hurt. As an agency, we will do our best to mediate this.”
“Once again, we want to apologize to the fans who love Infinite, media affiliates, and everyone for not being able to tell the truth.
